SpaceSim

Immersive and Interactive Orbiter Docking Simulation (Beta)

If you have and comments, installation and operation problems or an idea of how we could enhance MarsFlight, you can send your ideas to NASA via e-mail to Tim Dedula.

Our Scenario

SpaceSim is a realistic Space Simulation that mimic's the sights, sounds, and challenges that actual astronauts experience as they Rendezvous and Dock with the International Space Station. SpaceSim immerses students in the cockpit of the Space Shuttle Orbiter and provides them with realistic scenery, displays, and controls that enable them to rendezvous and dock successfully. SpaceSim can also immerse students outside the Space Shuttle Orbiter simulating an interactive spacewalk experience.

Special Thanks

SpaceSim was made possible through generous support from the Glenn Research Center's Educational Programs Office. NASA/Glenn designed the software and provided project management. The software was developed outside of NASA by VRSim, Inc. SpaceSim was developed to inspire our next generation of Explorers who participate in the National Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Aerospace Academy (SEMAA) program that is managed by the Glenn Research Center's Educational Programs Office.
