SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS, AND AEROSPACE ACADEMY (SEMAA)

The Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy (SEMAA) is a joint venture by Cuyahoga Community College and the NASA Glenn Research Center.

SEMAA was established to increase the number of underrepresented and underserved students interested in science, math, engineering and technology careers as well as increase the success rates of all students interested in science and math.

SEMAA goals are to provide academic enrichment and career awareness programs to encourage K-12 students to acquire a strong academic background in science and math to prepare them to pursue undergraduate programs in these areas; to facilitate the successful transition of students from high school to postsecondary programs in science, math, engineering and technology; to provide parents with program activities to empower them to participate in the education of their children and to continue their education within lifelong learning; to introduce students and educators to 'state-of-the-art" technology that can be utilized in experimentation and research. The SEMAA program has components for students, parents, teachers, and the community.

The GRC contact for SEMAA is: Dovie E. Lacy at (216) 433-5163
